About the author
Markus Maurer ist Professor für Berufspädagogik an der Pädagogischen Hochschule Zürich und als Dozent in der Ausbildung von Berufsschullehrpersonen tätig. Im Rahmen seiner Forschungstätigkeit beschäftigt er sich insbesondere mit der Berufsbildung für Erwachsene, mit der internationalen Berufsbildungszusammenarbeit sowie mit der Didaktik der beruflichen Bildung.
Silke Fischer, Dr. phil., ist Senior Researcher am Eidgenössischen Hochschulinstitut für Berufsbildung. Vorher war sie Dozentin für Fachdidaktik Wirtschaft und Berufsbildung an der PH Zürich und Lehrerin an Berufsfachschulen. Ihre Forschungsinteressen umfassen Kreativität, Gamification, Fachdidaktik Wirtschaft und Kompetenzentwicklung.
Karin Hauser, lic. iur., ABU-Lehrperson, Schulleiterin (EDK), ist Dozentin für Fachdidaktik Berufskunde und für Privatrecht an der PH Zürich und Qualitätsbeauftragte der Abteilung Sek II/Berufsbildung der PH Zürich.
Summary
In virtually no other country, vocational education and training (VET) has an equally strong position at the upper secondary level as in Switzerland. Most of Swiss VET students spend a majority of their time in companies, acquiring competencies
that are relevant for the needs of the labour market. This book provides an overview of the main systemic elements of the Swiss model, including the role of the private sector,
the governance and the financing. In addition, it provides insights into the pedagogical approaches used in Swiss VET.
